Over 100 car break-ins have been reported to Reykjavík Capital Area Police since October 1. RÚV reported first. About half of the break-ins in question occurred in downtown Reykjavík.

In a post on their Facebook page, police urged drivers in the city to lock their cars while parked and avoid leaving valuables in them. They also encouraged drivers to park in well-lit areas, as vehicles parked in dark streets are easy prey for burglars.
